The Melt Shop Journey

Five stages. One continuous flow.

  • Sorted ferrous scrap is weighed, blended to target chemistry and charged via dedicated buckets or continuous feeders — backed by a scrap-yard layout built for safe, high-throughput handling.
  • Induction Furnaces (IF) or Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) convert the charge into liquid steel. Power profile, slag practice and tap-to-tap cycles are tuned to your tonnage and energy availability.
  • LRF, AOD and secondary metallurgy fine-tune chemistry, remove inclusions and homogenise temperature — delivering clean steel at the right composition for casting.
  • Refined liquid steel is cast into billets on multi-radius CCMs with automatic mould-level control, ensuring surface quality, internal soundness and dimensional consistency.
  • Water treatment, fume extraction (FES), electrical systems and SCADA-based automation keep the melt shop running safely, efficiently and within compliance.
